Woah, I wouldn’t say that, now. Remember, we have characters like Arisa and Daryl who act completely different from scene to scene with little to no catalyst in between, and countless unexplained plotholes and unnecessary backstory (I still don’t understand why Inori had to be a famous musician if it’s never referenced beyond her being popular in the class, which she would be anyway because she’s cute, but you know). Kido Kenji’s only fault is that he ended up being really popular just by having a cute design, but he was never intended to be really relevant beyond being that kid Gai uses as a cool weapon when it’s convenient.. tl;dr I would hardly say that Kido Kenji exemplifies the staff’s incompetence when we have so many other examples…
