BUT I HAVE SO MANY YGO THOUGHTS ugh let’s try to keep this briefish.

SO YEAH the nostalgia series I never let go of. Baby’s first fandom. I adore it, the dub and the sub version. Of course, I don’t always enjoy the fandom (TAS fans can be really awful and I generally resent the really vocal TAS fans for a general lack of tact and failure to distinguish parody from the actual source material.. and obnoxious comments at cons). 

I enjoy the anime version more than the manga, for the most part (the BC finals in the manga were cool though and I liked the Otogi backstory). I only give a crap about a few duels; I’ve never really got into the technicalities of the game. But I love the characters to death. I have a hard time figuring out who I like more over the other (well besides Varon but he always tops) because I just love them all so much. I also used to ship pretty much everyone together in the series. To be honest, I probably still could. 

DOMA/DOOM is my favorite season. I dont care how much everyone whines about it being out of place or whatever, that’s a different rant for a different time, ahaha. For me, season ranks are probably DOMA > Battle City > Alcatraz > Egypt > Duelist Kingdom > Noa’s arc > Grand Prix. Tradition states that all grand prix arcs in ygo drive me up the damn wall. Though I do pretty much like everything a lot, except the grand prix.

And for good measure, love GX after it gets going (Jaden/Judai is easily my favorite protagonist), got bored as hell of 5D’s about 3/4s of the way through (even though the Dark Signer arc is one of my favorites in YGO so far, I just got fed up with the wasted character potential down the road), and ZX is probably in the running for new favorite if I can summon the energy to catch up with it. Toei was ok, but it took itself a bit too seriously for my taste…and it was weird lol. Capsule Monsters … I don’t remember very fondly, but the 10th anniversary movie was the greatest movie I have ever seen and that’s that.
